For choosing a Quilt , First of all we need to understand What is Batting Fabric ? For making a Baton quilt , First of all we have to  sandwiched Baton between the top and bottom fabric pieces and the whole set is sewn together to create the quilt. Depending on how you want your finished quilt to look and feel, you will choose type of Baton.
